Welcome to Blinding Radiants, the first website (Started three months
before the comic was even on the stands!) dedicated to the CrossGen
Comics book, Solus, featuring the return of pencilling legend George
Perez to a monthly comic. The comic follows the adventures of
Solusandra/Andra Radiant as she searches for the secrets of her
origins,
and the origins of the CrossGen Universe. Have fun, take a look
around the site, and I would love to hear criticism, comments, and
suggestions if anyone has them.
--December 25th, 2003 - Well, first off, Merry Christmas, or holiday of
choice. Hope everyone's has been good. Second of all, we're
a year old! And still updating despite Solus now being gone for
now, probably for good. I expect Andra to turn up in CrossGen
War, so the site will at least survive that long. Thirdly,
updates! I''ve added a bunch of
scans
from issues 6-8, and Mystic 41, as well as a sketch of Andra I got done
at ChicagoCon. I hope everyone enjoys, and keep your eye here,
we're not dead yet!
--October 17th, 2003 - Well, hell. I wake up today, in a pretty
good mood, get online, and what do I see? CrossGen is cancelling
a bucketload of titles. Including Solus. At issue 8.
Talk about having the proverbial rug not only pulled out from under
you, but being rolled up, and being used to beat you over the head with.
What does this mean for the future of this site? Well, buggered
if I know right now. I'll continue updating, and get all the info
and scans for the released issues up, as I normally would...but right
now, I'm at least hesitant to bother with further annotations.
After the book is gone, will the site stay up? Possibly. If
folks want it to. If the book still matters, and people visit the
site. If Andra continues to appear in guest appearances, or a new
title. As long as Andra's around, this site will be. That
much is certain. Nearly. If she's gone, and the books
gone... I suppose as long as we get hits, I'll leave the site up
and active, as a memorial, at the least, and place for the fans to
see. A part of history...
--September 2nd, 2003 - Did a HUGE
images
update with pics from Solus 4 and 5, and First 34, as well as a few
images from the recent Pacesetter #2, added info on the
Worlds pages for the last few issues, and
added Paul Ryan and Leonard Kirk to the
Creators
page. Speaking of Pacesetter, this very site got a brief mention
of George Perez fan sites! I can not say how absolutely tickled
this made me. I was flipping through the book when it came in,
saw the sites waaay in the back, and let out a big squeal of joy.
Yes, I am a geek. The annotations are still MIA, but I should be
getting around to the ones I've let slip soon.
--August 21st, 2003 - Added some new stuff here and there around the
site, most notably the new issues summaries, and some cover
inages to that part of the site.
--August 15th, 2003 - WOW. I went to Wizard World Chicago 2003,
and had a total blast of a time. The CrossGen folks are
absolutely the best. I had some very nice, friendly chats with
many of those at the con, got a few sketches, and just had a generally
excellent time. And got sketches! Once I have a scanner,
they'll be up here, as well as a few photos.
--June 20th, 2003 - FINALLY added the
annotations
for Solus #3. And as a bonus, I've even done issue #4 already.
--June 17th, 2003 - Added the
covers to
Solus
#7 and First #35 to the images section, the solicitations for those to
the
Issues page, and added an editorial by
Gina Villa about Solus and the CrossGen Universe from her monthly
CrossCurrents column in the back of recent CrossGen comics.
Annotations for Solus #3 are on the way...
--May 24th, 2003 - Added numerous
images
including covers to Solus #6 and First #34, as well as scans to issue
3. Plus, added solicitation info for those two issues to the
Issues pages, and added info on the
worlds seen in issue 2.
--May 18th, 2003 - Added the
annotations to
Solus #2.
--April 28th, 2003 - Added
images from Solus
#2, and updated the
Cast page with info and
images.
--April 26th, 2003 - Mmm, Solus #2 is in my hands, and hopefully in all
of yours. If not, hopefully soon! I've added annotations to
issue #1 to the
Issues section, and hope
they
fill in some of the blanks folks may have with the series.
Questions and comments are welcome, and can be
e-mailed to me. These
are the first annotations I've ever written up, so they're spotty, and
will hopefully be polished over time, as I inevitably write more for
the
series.
--April 9th, 2003 - The slow progression of updating continues.
Added some info to the
Worlds page, and
changed
it's name, and focus, now that we have more details from the comic, and
aren't working on guesswork. Also, added images of the creators
to
the
Creators page. Next up, adding
some character images, working on the Andra page, synopsis, a
review, and how do some annotations sound?
--April 8th, 2003 - Just added a bunch of images from issue #1!
Review coming soon.
--April 2nd, 2003 - Well, I did a few updates across the site, and
finally pulled the counter, seeing as the first issue is actually out
now, and it's no longer necessary. Solus is here, yay! Oh
yeah, updated the intro text up there ^.
--February 27th, 2003 - Little updates here and there proceed apace, as
the release of the book nears. But I really wanted to take this
opportunity to give a HUGE thanks and shout out to Vu and his website,
George-Perez.com, who keeps
posting stuff I come across to the site regarding Solus, with credit
applied as it should be, a thanks, and a nice link on the main page to
here, with a bunch of other high-profile sites. I love the site,
and am glad I can help in any way, even if it is, in my opinion, minor
ways. Keep up the good work!
--January 18th, 2003 - Added some info, and updated the Cast page
accordingly, as well as corrected Larry Molinar's name.
--January 13th, 2003 - Well, turns out the planet name *is* Solus, and
Heliotrope is the name of a city on said planet, and not the planet
itself, as was mentioned in Wizard. Silly Wizard.
(Although,
she may technically be the hero of Heliotrope.) I've run through
the pages and fixed everything I saw. If anyone sees one I
missed,
please e-mail me.
--January 6th, 2003 - Just a tiny little update to the site, added
CGUniverse to the links page. Still waiting for Previews to get
to
me, so I can make some scans...
--December 29th, 2003 - Went ahead and updated the timer, since it
appears that Solus won't be out for a week later than previously
reported. By now, everything on the site works, and the News
section has had a few updates as well. Slowly, but surely...
--December 20th, 2002 - The site is created! Mostly. Watch
out for broken links. Those should be patched over soonish.
